How to fix "protection error" on startup of Smartmoto - GSM-Forum

Well, after being infected with Pate.B virus, all the exes became corrupted, and when i tried to run Smartmoto, windows gave an error with smth like "protection error, try to run software again" when software was trying to startup, so it would not start.

Even if i tried to uninstall it, this error would come while unistalling, and would make me not being able of unistalling it. Neither would the "Restore" option in the installer work.

Now, the problem was that the "protect.exe" was corrupt. The solution was simple:

-Go to your Smartmoto installation path ("C:\Program Files\Gsmserver\Smartmoto" by default) and delete "Protect.exe".

-After that, run the installer and select the "Restore" option.

-All will be fixed after that.

*Note: No other option than "Restore" after deleting file or with corrupt "Protect.exe" will work.
