How to flash Cingular v3 with T-Mobile flash?

This may be a stupid question but I use my Smart-Clip for unlocking haven't used it to flash yet. I'm not a newbie or Sunday unlocker. I have a Cingular v3 Razr that a customer wants to use on T-Mobile so I want to put the T-Mobile software in it so they can use it with T-zone. Can I use Smart-Moto to just back up the flash from a T-Mobile v3 and restore it to the Cingular v3? Will that work? Or does someone have a T-Mobile flash I can flash the Cingular phone with?

Sure it will work, as long as the T-Mobile branded flash file is the same version or newer than the one currently in the Cingular V3....

#1 Back up the 32MB flash from a T-Mobile branded RAZR V3.

#2 Take the Cingular V3, enter flash mode, SmartMoto will back up its Security Area and save it. REMEMBER WHERE IT IS! Usually it is saved in SmartMoto/security backup

#3 Tell SmartMoto to Restore Phone Flash. SmartMoto will complain that the IMEI in the flash that you want written to the Cingular V3 is different. Tell it to proceed.

#4 After it's done "restoring backup," now Restore Security Area, and grab the backed up Security Area and put it back into the phone.

#5 Voila, T-Zone with a X-Cingular back cover!

PS can't you flash an unbranded flash file then manually input the T-Mobile GPRS settings into the Browser -> Web Session field?

you dont have to do all that..
just go to www.motox.us and get their T-Mobile FLEXLASH.

its a SHX file that just flashes the flex file..
once done, do a master clear and reset and if you want to a reflash.

I used the flexflash you suggested, Thanks. Now I need to find one for v180.

im not sure there is one for the v180.
what way do you want to go? cingular to tmobile or tmobile to cingular?

I really need both but I can do with just the Cingular because T-Mobile will send the settings to the phone if needed. Is there a way to copy the flash from the phone? So I can just copy a Cingular and flash it to a T-Mobile.

if its just the settings you want, take the websession file from a cingular one.
you need a program like p2kman or motokit.


its easy.

i have a websession file for both cingular and tmobile somewhere.
do you have yahoo?

just flash it with unbranded firmware and add the websession file.


motokit can copy flex file from the phone and it works pretty good.

i wouldnt copy the whole flash from smartmoto just to change flex file. you could mess up more that way specially if they are different firmware versions.
