really really need help for unlocking v3x!!!!

Hi,

I posted problems with v3x unlocking before but seems no one can help...

Anyway, I've managed to unlock 2 v3x before, struggle to connect many times and they worked. I've got another one today, and I have been trying to connect testpoint for nearly 2 hours!!!!!!!! Still no success. I used cruiser K750i cable with the 2 clips (black and red) I cliped a needle into one clip and connected the other to the metal case of smart clip for grounding. I also tried ground with the sim card slot, nothing worked. But before I used the same method and done 2 phones with many trials.

Could anyone give me some advise on the tools I need to be using??? Really don't know if it's my tools are not good or my smart clip doesn't want to work!!!!!

HELP!!!!HELP!!!HELP!!!

Here's my smartmoto log.

Its not the test-point that's the problem, AT command error if i'm not mistaken means they is a user code on the handset that needs to be removed and the you should be able to connect to the phone

Cruiser cable do what?? What you doing with that?

Use USB cable connected to smart-clip, I use ground on PC chassis.

Searching for phone... found Motorola Phone (RAZRV3x), getting test interface... OK
Model RAZRV3x
Firmware R25221LD_U_85.83.E9P
Reading info OK

This would imply to me that you have not followed the correct procedure

Connect USB
Connect TP
Connect Battery
Search In smartmoto
Disconnect TP and unlock

Hi, I managed to unlock the other 2 phones with the same condition, AT command error comes up often! But there's no user code set, the phone is brand new.

when smartmoto says "AT command error", I'll just click "search" again right after that, it will then connect ok. Don't know why.

Hi, I used usb cable for smart clip, the cruiser cable I used for connecting testpoint. The K750i cable has 2 battery connector, I used them.

The procedure I did was,
connect smart-clip to the computer
connect usb cable to the phone
power the Smart-clip on
Connect testpoint
connect battery
Search in Smart moto

By the way, sometimes smartmoto says phone not found. Then the smart clip leds red, and I have to unplug the power and then replug it because if I keep searching, it will still say "no phone found".

I think using cables from cruiser cable to me seems a bit dangerous also grounding to smart-clip box because these devices go into USB 5v and all sorts of circutry and I would not feel to confident with this for GND method .

I have done 2 V3x today only problem I had was no LCD but fixed with reflow TP

Could be problem with your smart-clip but I would use a different method for GND

what method do you use for GND? Because I read lots of threads regarding V3x and found someone using the smart clip case for GRD and some one use the sim card slot(metal shield) for GRD...

The cruiser cable part I used is just the 2 claws (battery connector), dont' think there should be any problem about that.

Just now I tried another dozens times for connecting, still no luck. I've already connected hundreds of times in total, so I'm pretty sure I've learned some skills and hand is steady, didn't move at all when insert battery. So weird! I'm in Australia, and just found out the only official reseller here doesn't sell Smart clip any more...... I'm Really seeking support!

You are not connect the test point to the ground coreclty mate

You should see something like "getting test interface... interface not found"

and not "found Motorola Phone (RAZRV3x), getting test interface... OK
Model RAZRV3x"

Searching for phone... found Motorola Phone (RAZRV3x), getting test interface... OK
Model RAZRV3x
Firmware R25221LD_U_85.83.E9P
Reading info OK

yours is not going into flash mode so this is TP problem is phone off?
What I'm thinking right now is "You lucky"!!

I know the difference, I've unlocked 2 v3x before, and I kept trying and trying just want to connect it with "S Blank Rainbow POG", but it just kept coming up "Motorola Phone (RAZRV3x)". Theoretically it's the problem with my TP connection, but I just don't know what's the best tool for TP.

Could you tell me what do you use for TP connection to GND?

I solder wire on using old 80 pin IDE cable, lead free solder and 12w antex iron 0.12mm solder tip, some flux (chinese stuff) and tape over to stop movement, then when need TP connected I connect to other wire attached to my PC chassis screw, unlock then de solder

its no wonder people have problems when they solder wires to testpoints.

very, very, very easy, just use a normal scope/test probe and touch it on the testpoint, click search, take off probe, pick up cup and drink coffee while waiting for it to finish unlocking. works on every motorola/se phone.

phone opened unlocked and put back together in 5 mins, test on nearly 200 v3x's now without any problem.

i really don't know why its so hard.

No problems with solder here even sagems I solder - much better than jigs if I use probe I have to hold phones in awkward positions soldering is a much better connection this guy @hyds is having probs with his TP so solder is much better solution for him

How do you combat the awkwardness of using a probe?

Thanks for your reply!
Looks like my method isn't good enough!
I dont' have the scope/test probe like you said, any chance you could upload a picture so I know what it looks like?
I know v3x should be easy to unlock, I don't know why it's so hard either!

I'm off to bed now, tomorrow I'll see how it goes. THank you guys

I used needle and found not so hard, I place the board upright, press it downwards with my right hand forefinger to fix the board, and use thumb and middle finger to hold the claw with the needle on it, then connect testpoint, use left hand to inster the battery from the back. Then use left hand to press "search".

I've done it hundreds of times and I can handle it alright now, very steady.... But doesn't work!~~

I don't have a solder, guess I have to buy one tomorrow lol! By the way, how do you de-solder the wire when it's done? Sorry it may sound stupid, just because I never done solder before.

I'm off to bed now. Will come back here tomorrow morning. Thank you
