i don't know what they mean about this cable, the magic isn't in the tp wire.
testpoint wire is anything from ground wich have 0 volt and go to ground of the phone or of the box, they are all the same,
i thing maybe they have make a pure ground who hasn't any signal or noise, or maybe it connect itself instead of connecting tp and search then release and unlock.
it's not a big thing.

I use a USB cable that has a clip on +5v and a needle on GND.
that way you connect the needle to tp and then clip the +5v on battery + and hit search.. works 100%.

i preffer to solder a thin wire to test point, so i can work the phone with out problem, i have a microscope and good solder so is fast, easy.

I always put the small wire in the charge connector for groung like v3 i left it inside and plug the cable and once i remove i just pull it,....
