3G NEC 3G Unlock success... 1st time with FREE sw.. - GSM-Forum

Here you go... D/L NEC3G Free.... D/L e228 Drivers... Plug USB cable into handset... Plug into PC (Win 98 only) with battery out... Win98 needs to install the drivers now... around 4 or 5...

Then Check posts in control panel... Whatever OBX COM post your e228 is on.... Remember it....

Start Loader prog from NEC3GFREE enter the correct COM port form OBX

Click read codes... when 2nd box appears... Click on same COM again...

Codes will display in about 20 secs....

Enter NCK with 3G SIM in... Wait for SIMLOCK Message...
Enter SPCK with 3G SIM in... again wait for confirmation...

Then put in new SIM and Battery....

Phone unlocked....

This I have just done on a V16 handset.... *#06# to find SW Version...

If we don't have the 3G SIM how we will do it? Can we do it with the testcard?

Yes with Motorola testcard, u can buy from one stop factory.

Unlocked a NEC 616v with software and modded cable with motorola test card

I enter Codes without any SIM Inside ..

Phones Unlocks without any Prob

I've finally received Motorola test sim v1.02 (AKA v2) and it doesn't work with my e616v (sw v17). Just after booting phone with this SIM card inside it starts restarting. NEC doesn't allow me to enter anything

Anyone has any idea how to reset counter using this test SIM card? Or is it worthless?

I never tried that way... But glad it works OK...

Conclusion.... Don't buy Daft Test SIM.... Type in codes withoud SIM and wait for message....
