Free unlocking utility for NEC phones, Please test

I have written an utility which should unlock NEC camera phones, in particular 525/515 (n22/n34). This autodetect various settings, so it may work with other models.

http://home.ripway.com/2004-5/118594/nectalk.zip

Usage: "nectalk -pt unlock" to autoscan for everything.
Run "nectalk" by itself to see command line options.

This requires the data cable, and that you are familiar with the command-line.

Email me at stalewind1 - at - yahoo.com if you want to rant.

The Nec341i is virtually identical to the NEC 525 which I tested this on.
Yes, this uses the USB Cable with the virtualized serial port, and SHOULD auto-detect.
If you try it, please let me know the PTE number that it displays so I can update the documentation.
If the "unlock" command doesn't work, it might help if you send me the results of "read 0 1" -- this is the
configuration area.

I'll need to look at the 341i memory editor and find
the "UsePteCommand,#####" number for it (for those curious,
do a google search, you'll find numbers for the 221i and 224i's listed, but not 341i -- so sad).

Can someone with phones other than a 341i please try this?

I tried stalewind's utility on NEC 525 with USB data cable and it worked!!

The phone was locked onto AT&T USA and showed me "invalid sim" message with
T-mobil sim inserted before I ran the utility, but it does not say any error message and
I can make calls with T-mobil sim.

Thank you so much for the great utility, stalewind.

Does this just change something in the phone, or actually figure out the 8 digit unlock code. Is there any way for the program to read this number and display it in the program?

Does this program require the usb cable to use serial emulation?
