Exclamation NEC e313 3G SIM UNLOCK - PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Hey Guys,

My sister was bought a NEC e313 phone for her birthday. I'm in the UK. It has a '3' simcard. I really want to unlock it but nobody seems to know how. I'm guessing I'm hoping someone will come to my rescue here and tell me a way to do it? The #4960#xxxxxxx# code doesn't work, but when I type *#4960# it says "USIM Card Unblocked" but it still doesn't accept another SIM.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mat

On 3G Mobile Yeh? I didn't try it with the second simcard in - when you put that card in it just says something along the lines of 'Wrong USIM Card' and you can only press on the emergency calls button...

EDIT : I tried it with it in - and it actually came up and asked for a 8 digit unlock code and I used 12345678 and it accepted it and loaded up as normal, but then when you chose an application it said something along the lines of 'The cannot be loaded. Please close all applications and try again'. It seems to me 3G have made it so only their sim card can handle the facilites on the phone. Any Ideas?

With SIM card inserted firstly enter:
#4960#12345678#
and then
*4960*12345678*12345678#

After typing this, power off the phone and then power it on.
It must work now, but if you insert another SIM, you have to do this process again.

BR,
Jure

NEC Temporary Unlock:

Put a 2G Simcard and turn ON the phone.
#4960*xxxxxxxx#
*4960*xxxxxxxx*xxxxxxxx#
Turn OFF and ON again.
xxxxxxxx = any numbers

Remember the xxxxxxxx you used. You will need to use same code in the furure.

gsm repair - when the code has been inserted should it say usim card lock off or on?
When I put the first line in it says "usim card lock off" and then after the second line it says "usim card lock on"
I then restart but it goes to the same screen asking for the correct usim card.

OK Jackal helped me out there.. an I can get it so that the phone can make and recieve calls etc on 02. (You do this by getting into the main phone and then ringing 112, and when asked to change to 3G press yes) Now everything works except the messages and contacts. Any idea?

Unhappy NEC E 313 on 3G

Hi Folks,
I must be a bit thick!!!When I put a 2G sim card in
I cannot punch in the numbers as the display stays blank.
Do I still proceed even though I cannot see what I am typing?

Ken
