Member: 72709 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | so my 3g sim is now useless? and as the phone dosent work fully on the 2g simm I have ruined a new phone - I wish this had been made more obvious by all those people posting the temporary simm unlock codes. A warning to all |

Member: 72327 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | thats that idea out then. you could open it, break something internal, and take it back to argos and get a replacement. what uk 2g network were you using? what wasn't working, what s/w version are you using. this discussion will get nowhere until everyone finds out what versions can be sim unlocked - instead of 100 different people posting "how can I unlock". We'll at least know what sims and software versions work, and which don;t. Instead of people ruining good phones for no gain. |

Member: 72709 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | OK - not that this means anything to me software is : SW ACPU:E21.43.04 CCPU:C623 R06 unlocked to an O2 card - worked but no contacts or SMS also tried to unlock to my work SIM card which is also O2 but is also on a private network e.g I can call internal numbers on in rather than external STD numbers . This did not work at all When putting 3g card back in get 'please insert correct USIM card' message. Hope this helps others |

Member: 72327 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | My software is : SW ACPU:E21.43.04 CCPU:C623 R06 unlocked to a Vodaphone card - worked. This seems strange, but I do not beleive that you can write contacts to the sim card. writing contacts into the phone works. SMS works. also tried to unlock to my work SIM card which is also O2 but is also on a private network e.g I can call internal numbers on in rather than external STD numbers . This did not work at all (don;t know anything about this). When putting 3g card back in get 'please insert correct USIM card' message. (it will do cos its locked to 2g now. "Just thought - I forgot to mention that I never put the 3g card into the phone prior to trying to unloct to another network - maybe this was my error?" nothing to do with it. I sold the 3 sim seperate, still sealed. I think this is SIM related. Vodaphone is good. O2 bad. Need feedback on this. My current theory is that Vodaphone sims work with this method (ie you can sms, but contacts on the sim DON'T - contacts on the phone DO work). |
