Unlocking nec e606 diary. - GSM-Forum

Hello.
I guess that the only way to onlock a nec e606 e is by testpoints, wich means we need to open the case.
We I known, is to complicated. But I have to do it, so follow me in this adventure.
I will open the phone, sold the cable, connect to the PC com port, use the NEC exxx WCMDA Software. So wish me luck.

From now on and until I have my nec unlocked from the 3 network, I will post everyday the progression of the unlock.
So Let's start.

Unlock a e606 mobile locked to 3 network.

---------------------
[OK] Nec e606 (!duh)
[OK] Software NEC exxx WCDMA
[TO BUY] Screwdriver (gotta look on my local store) -> (Probably 7 euros)
[TO BUY] Basic Solding machine -> (15 euros)
[TO BUY] RS232 Cable to connect to my Computer

So, I need 3 more tools. Today after work I will seach for all of them.
I will post as soon as possible.

i boutgh the jeck of cable for nec e606 can any body help me how to built the cable which work without testpoint i mean have the pinout of e606 please because after opening the phone warrenty is void and people hesitate to unlock by this procedure

You need testpoint, because throu pinouts you can't unlock.

1. Open cover
2. Solder wires (simple com cable from motorola 191 ex)
3. Open Nec eXXX Wcdma ...
4. push start on soft, and hit power on the phone...
5. Wait ... All done
Tested 100 % on 10 e606 different versions

You mean those testpoints JPG's that come with nec exx WCDMA ?
By the way, i'm getting trouble buying a screwdriver for this nec !

these ppl sell the tri wing screwdriver quite cheap as well.

Finally i've got the screwdriver for nec e606 and the rs232 cable.
Now all I need is the solding machine.
But I've a doubt. Do I just need to sold the wires and connect the rs232 do the computer, and then run the software ? Or is there something that i'm missing ?

Hi,
I still need the cable rs232 externally powered, like a philips savvy cable.
But I will post everything back ASAP.

I have one with trouble with you too... Where's the points for external power? There was a schema for Max232 cable, do you mean that? Is that chips can be found any electronic shops? I asked several phone dealers in my city (izmir/Turkey) but they don't have neither philips savvy nor Nec's cable.. So, I have to make my own! I connected Tx-Rx-GND but I didn't understand that external power situation

Please help...
