WHAT you and your programmers should do is not to forget about OffLine users and about Slow internet users who can only download with decent speed paying on Internet CyberCafe, where you cant install dongle drivers nor can run softwares like maintenance, just to generate a simple link.

let users access your stuff at support using their CARD ID and a Password on a web site and everyone will be happy, you can just add a download file limit per day, etc...
