I have tried this method and still cannot get the handset to connect. I keep getting the following message:

ERROR: SCI USB2Serial port not found! BE sure the drivers from support were installed;

I have installed the Spreadtrum drivers from the drivers folder but when I connect the e210 cable to the handset it comes up with battery fully charged message before I can press the ok button and insert the battery.

Thank You.

Because you do it wrong. Must press OK, insert cable,and only when the sw is looking for the phone you insert the battery

Thankyou for your support.

Turned out the fault was a damaged e210 cable. Have fixed cable and is now working correctly.
