No is not for VSM files but for brandings that were readed by soft itself. To remove branding simply check option reffering that. In rest if you want to play with VSMs you can check Blackberry section on gsmcity as i recall seeing one nice tut reffering it, but please note that branding remove wont work for new sec fws or models.
