Member: 1203113 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Unsecure port opening failed - BBCFPCOM not registered Ok, I have been running into this error when rewriting the PIN on some 8330c's with MEID's while ESN based 8330's worked fine. I tried using MML and was receiving an error that BBCFPCOM wasn't registered. So I registered BBCFPCOM via: [DRIVE LETTER]:\Windows\System32\RegSvr32 C:\MML\BBCFPCOM.DLL from a command prompt. Then, I noticed that when the replacement SFI file was being loaded in the unlocker, the phone was also rebooting. So, instead of disconnecting it like requested, I left it connected and waited for it to reboot and THEN I hit OK. The phone was detected, connected, finished and worked. I'm not sure which of the two variables made the difference since I still get the "unsecure port opening failed" message, although I would put my money on it having been a timing issue. I think it's safe to say though, that if you are getting other errors related to BB communications, it's best to fix those ASAP. The odd thing is that I haven't made any changes to the system, as far as I can remember, that would have caused a problem with BBCFPCOM being registered... |
