Sim Lock Menu - LG C2000

Hi! Fido in Canada has had the LG 2000 for a couple weeks now. Blazer can detect the phone with Cable D, can detect the Unlocking Code, but cannot unlock the phone by itself.

I know that I can put in say a Rogers Wireless sim card and punch in the unlocking code when the phone asks for it, but it seems like that just makes the phone accept the Rogers card in addition to the Fido one it was originally locked to. If the customer goes to the US and puts in a T-Mobile sim card, the phone will ask for the same code once again.

So, I would like to get to the Settings -> Security -> Sim Lock menu and manually disable sim lock with that code. What do I punch in to unlock that menu? The service code I have is 2945#*70001#, that works for LG 1300i, but not this one >_<

If it means anything, when I read Flash1 and Flash2 with Blazer, Blazer saves them to the 70xx folder. Maybe that means they're in the same series....

If you can get to the Sim Lock menu, then you can put in the code that Blazer got from connecting to the phone there, to disable SP Lock completely. Of course, I don't know what the code is to get to that menu....

Right now, I'm just writing the unlocking code onto a stick-it note and giving that to the customer....

If you go to Settings you can change which band the phone runs on, either automatic 850MHz / 1900MHz or manual 1800MHz. If you need 900MHz, that's hardware and can't be had on this phone.

ok. . i just tried this..

you need 3 different network simcards

after you've entered them 3 times, it won't ask you for a password anymore

Really?

Sorry for the stupid question, but did you try with a FOURTH company's sim card? Once you have inputted the code for a Rogers sim, for example, the phone won't ask you for the code for any other Rogers sim. I guess that means the phone is unlocked for that network.

Crap, I only have Fido, Rogers and T-Mobile sims on hand.... I guess I need to drive down and pick up a Cingular pre-paid kit....
