w600 unlocking with DCU-60 cable not working... - GSM-Forum

hello,
people are having difficulty using dcu-60 cables to unlock w600 phones.

the software just stalls at the part where it says:
1. Use fully charged phone battery and power off the phone
2. Hold C key pressed on the phone and do not release
3 Connect phone to DCU-60 cable now

this seems to be happening with people who have used their cable to and phone as a usb storage device.

I have had them uninstall the usb storage drivers, and try to install the dcu-60 drivers...when they plug in their cables their is no new hardware found wizard.

some instructions on how to get the drivers installed would be really great as I get tired of having poeple "try" tons of different things.

yeah that's the process that i've told at least 2 people to go through and still no luck for them...oh well. whatever, i've refunded both of their money so it doesn't matter now.

Hello,
I have a W600 and the USB cable to connect to my pc. I downloaded Universal Simlock Remover but can't get it to work. First, is this all I need to unlock this phone? If not is there some other method that has been proven to work? Thanks!

Hi,
well i got the drivers to install and did the unlock with dcu60 cable, after it finished and i connected the phone for the second time it said to turn on the phone. well when i did it says insert correct smart card, i live in the us and use cingular, any one have any thoughts?

also i read to remove the sim card so i tried that to and same thing insert correct smart card.
