Wrong GDFS error K608i while flashing

Hi TMS,

sorry if i started a new thread on this.
BUt i am trying to flash R2F015 onto my phone when the error wrong GDFS kept popping up.

I don't a have backup GDFS file to put back into my phone! and i can't find any files of such on the download area also...

PHone's CID37, K608i australian version. Now the phone won't start (credit not deducted but i can't complete flashing either). Is my phone dead?

anyone has a gdf backup file or do i need one? can i simply use the recover EROM button ?

Hello there,

this is very bad... you say only what happening now with your phone when its totally damaged... just when you dont know what to do...

and seems you are asking what to do but meantime yourself describing totally different ways of repair a phone... and claiming we do not have these repair files you need for your super repair methods that nobody guided you or told you to use....

so as we can read you tried everything you were able to try and now with totally damaged phone come here saying this and that...

pls tell us how was damaged your phone before not connecting to multiserver and what the hell happened... then we will understand a little bit what happened :-)

Regards,

Hi there,

I am also confused by what i say - sorry about my english

Well let me explain a little better:

1) Flashed R2J yesterday, phone not good - keep restarting
2) Found out today that need R2F015 - stable and better for 3-5% of ppl out there (unfortunately this includes me)
3) Came home, downloaded the R2F015 (firmware and language files)
4) Load up TMS, tried to flash
5) Error code came saying = Wrong GDFS (and something like should be 86)

So I am assuming here if the tms saying wrong GDFS means that somehow something got messed up with the GDFS (not sure what this is). Then i go to the GDFS tab in TMS and there is the option of loading GDF files from PC to load back to the phone . So I assume this may help to restore the GDFS back to original?

This is purely my logic. If it says wrong gdfs when flashing, i assume it is best to have the original gdfs to put back into the phone. If I am wrong, well please do correct me. I am new to this...

Maybe should've put everything clear in my first message. Hope this clears things up a bit. My phone was with R2J005 (working although restart every minute or 2) before I tried to flash R2F015 this afternoon. Naturally when I see the wrong GDFS msg coming up halfway during the flash routine, I panicked and came in here to ask for help.

But I just got back from dinner and will try again to flash the R2F015 firmware into the phone. Charging the phone battery to full now and hoping it will work without the GDFS error code coming up again.

If you can provide any advice as to why a 'wrong GDFS' error may occur, it may help us both?

I am not trying to say bad things about TMS in any way...just asking for help/support

regards,

Hello there,

now all seems more than clear.

Okey, full charge your phone battery with your or other phone and then try to flash both R2F015 files at once :-)

If procedure fails, pls send us an screenshot and we will say whats the next :-)

Regards,

PS: about GDFS wrong answer msg... means that our software received and unexpected reply from the phone and thats why software says its wrong GDFS and procedure its stopped... but this thing does not mean GDFS area damaged, by example, if battery is low or 0% sure software will receive wrong GDFS and non-expected answer from the phone because since phone has no battery, then no reply... then software do not received expected reply :-) so as you can see this is not 100% GDFS damaged area :-)

just trying to help mshake, also make sure that the firewall/antivirus or other utilites are not running in the background, wich may cause unexpected processes to initiate...or expected processes to be stopped...just in case. good luck!

Thanks Janugerman/Murphy,

Finally .... finally. Stayed up till 4am waiting for the phone to finish flashing. Everything's cool now with R2F015. Guess i will stick with this firmware for a while. (if it's running well, no need to fix anything)

Cheers,

p.s. I purchased extra credit for flashing R2F015 after the initial not-so-good R2J005 flash. I read you can get replacement credit for this. Any way I can do this? Sorry but I deleted the *.jpd from flashing R2J005 but I can give u the username. Pretty sure you guys can check it out though.

Glad this is all sorted mate. Had a few sleepless nights with my K608i, but as usual TMS crew sorted it out. Well done TMS.
