Thank you,

Is imei change a firmware patch for i9300 or i9505 or is it permanent?

I'm looking for a permanent method, especially for i9300.

I have several empty mother boards i bought from a closed service center totally legal. When i swap a broke mother board wih a new one, the new efs is totally empty and i have to write a new imei, always the same imei that is on the old phone. That is why i'm looking for an "imei changer", and not only imei repair to original imei, because the new board does not have "original imei". I need to change to same imei as old phone.

Thanks Elco.

Hey Elco

Is it really permanent?
I just did a repair on a i9300, it did work, but as soon as i flash another firmware after imei repair, i get no signal. I have to rewrite imei again to make it work.

IMEI Write is permanent. The network parameters get resetted if you flash the phone. NOT the IMEI
So.. YES. The IMEI is PERMANENT

You are right.

Are there any chances to making the network parameters permanent too?
Do i have any options to making them permanent?

No. There is no solution for that problem at this moment.

Imei swapping is legal in the u.s.

I just wanted to make it clear to fellow U.S. NsPro users. It is not illegal to swap a imei from one phone to another phone that are both in your legal possession in the United States. The last few years Congress has proposed legislation to prohibit this activity, but it always dies in committee. It was recentyly proposed again on April 25th of this year and sent to committee where it will most likely be tabled there again. See this link for the newly proposed legislation:

Text of H.R. 1730: Cell Phone Theft Prevention Act of 2013 (Introduced version) - GovTrack.us

The Cloning laws in the United States only apply to cloning sim cards or esn numbers. Because cloning sim cards and/or esn's can lead to subscriber fraud. Which means you can actually steal someone's service without paying for it while the true owner of the sim or esn is stuck with paying for your usage. With IMEI numbers that is not possible due to the fact that is controlled by the sim card in gsm devices, not the IMEI. And as a matter of law and fact, you can clone your own sim or esn from a device in your legal possession because in that situation there is no intent to commit fraud which the cloning laws aim to prevent.

I challenge any doubters to find a law in the U.S. that prohibits swapping IMEI numbers. And, after you come back empty handed, ask yourself this question. Why does congress year after year try to propose laws to prohibit IMEI swapping if it was already illegal???

Only i9300, N7100, N8000, P3100 get network problems after flashing if imei was changed/repaired.
The IMEI repair is PERMANENT on all phones. I just posted the details above.
