I've gleaned that it can be unlocked, but the phone re-locks itself after a reboot. Seems to be a hardware issue instead of a software issue.

I did some testing myself ...

What I did was flash TWRP Tmobile S4 variant
Flash a Custom ROM (Tmobile USA)
Flash ktoonsez kernel ...

Everything is working fine ....

Seems that the only way to get the unlock code is from TracFone. I don't think this model can be unlocked via third part software or remote unlocking. TracFone is notorious for using different algorithms to calculate the code. My Octoplus box reads the phone info but says its always in Emergency mode and I don't know how to correct that.

Did it work? could you unblock it for other services?
I did the same but didn t flash ktoonsez kernel, still blocked.
If it worked, how did you flashed ktoosez kernel and what version did you use?

The latest ktoonzes for either the at&t or T-Mobile work on this phone.. Am running the T-Mobile firmware with at&t ktoonzes kernel.
