Member: 460537 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | help with unlocking motorola c168i i am trying to unlock the service provider lock using my infinity box and cable x-60 for a motorola c168i and when i click on sp-unlock it gives me the following COM6 selected Model: C168i Action: unlock Phone must be POWERED-ON ! Connecting, wait... Phone connected. Working... imei: 0213200000000000 error: probably phone not ready, make "Prepare" operation first ! Finished so i tried first clicking on prepare and that is what i get COM6 selected Device: C168i Checking data, wait... Action: Unlock (prepare) Boot... Phone should be Switched OFF ! Press Power button now ! and when i press on the power button the phone turns on and nothing else happen so will some one help me please and tell me what to do .. thank you |

Hey For that phones, you have to make sure the phone is coompletly switched off, or on sleep mode. Removing battery and putting it back isn't enough !!! You have to switch the phone off, then wait until it'll be completly off so now you can attach it to the cable to get the acknowledgement to perform prepare function. If you just do remove the battery while it's switched on and put it back, phone'll turn back on itself ! BR Jack | |

Member: 305197 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 8 | I dont get it all types of new phones and we are requested to remove ball 1 or cut traces etc.? I would assume the cell phone companies can still update firmware without mutilating the phones. I mean eventually their will be no point in owning an unlocking box with all the work that needs to be done to the phone just to prep it for flashing when you can make a whole 5 or 10 bux profit off unlocking these low cost throw away phones. |

Member: 305197 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 8 | No, but I didnt notice that the ATT model every one that I have got so far is factory unlocked, as my tmobile sim cards work fine in them, however this is no good because the ATT web functions are hardcoded in the firmware, so with another carrier sim you can not connect to the web. |
