A strange problem with PinFinder box...

I have used rarely this Infinity add-on may be more year - especially for Chinese phones - and all was fine... but from some time phones cannot be powered from PinFinder clips ... even can be powered from external power supply... So - checked Vpp on 1-st RJ pin - it's 4,8V .... checked between clips - it's 4.3 - 4.4 V, PinFinder drive well this power legs - when PowerOn is selected - Red LED light, when is PowerOff - then this LED is dark, when try to catch Rx / Tx - then blink together with changing pins ... Checked on another USB ports and on another PC - it's same. So - what can be the fault here? I know the Chinese phones drain more that 200 - 250 mA on startup ... - so inside the box may exist some current limiter circuit and need to be corrected?

Hello,

In most cases it's a problem with unibox (it has diode at power line and in many cases you can see big voltage loss at this diode).
Check PinFinder manual page 20, you will see information how to short diode and how to add additional capacitors.

Also here is PinFinder power circuit.
