Infinity-Box SE DB2020 Manual

-----------------------------
source: www.infinity-box.com
file version: 1.2
-----------------------------

Overview
Server allows you to upgrade the firmware, Debrand (Decustomize) or Rebrand (Customize) also add features to
your mobile phone.

Introduction
This guide is intended to make the process as simple as possible, please read it carefully and pay close attention
as some steps may seem a little confusing.

Follow steps 1 to 5 before you purchase any credits.

Note:
We do NOT offer unlocking to use different networks at this time.
You MUST use Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system.
Flashing will DELETE all settings and information in your phone because it is a full firmware upgrade.
If your phone is Vodafone branded please read information at this document end before continuing.
If your phone is Rogers branded then it is NOT possible to disable the camera sound.

Step 1 - Supported Phone Models
First we need to make sure we support your phone.

Step 2 - Downloading required files
You need to download the Client, the best way is to make a folder on your desktop called Server and save it
there.

Step 3 - Running the client for the first time
Remove the battery, sim and memory card from your handset.
Double click the Client icon from the location you saved it on your pc. Ignore the login ID and password box for
the moment.
Click the start button, the client is now waiting for your phone to be attached
Reinsert battery and do NOT power on the phone.
Plug the USB cable into your pc, now hold down the service key on your handset, keep it held and plug the
phone into the USB connector, you can now let go of the service key.

Step 3b - Driver installation (optional)
If you have used SEUS (Sony Ericsson update service) in the past then the driver is already installed so you
don’t need to install it again.
If the found new hardware wizard pops up then click here for the driver install guide
Once the phone is correctly connected you will see the data.
You need to write down the EROM CID version of your phone. The certificate color MUST be RED.

e.g RED CID 51, red is the certificate color and 51 is the CID version.
If your certificate is BROWN then we do NOT support it.
Now close the client and disconnect your phone.

Step 4 - Deciding which firmware to choose for your phone
First of all you need to decide which language you need, secondly if you want an unbranded firmware or a
branded firmware.
The firmware versions are listed on the right hand side of your phones model page as in step 1, the latest are
always at the top of the list along with the CID version (more on this in the next step).

Example:
I want to Debrand my phone
Click on a firmware and look for the 'Generic Trade' or 'Generic' groups and see if any of them contain the
language you want. If the latest firmware doesn’t have your language, then check previous versions.
Or
I want to upload Branded software to my phone
Click on a firmware and look for the network name and see if you find the one with the language you want. If
the latest firmware doesn’t have your language, check an earlier version.

Step 5 - CID Details
WARNING

You may be prompted to update your CID at one point, Before you update your CID you must check if there is a
firmware available for the new CID, please check under your phone model on the main web page for the
firmwares supported by your phone.
Now you have found the firmware and language group you want, we need to make sure your CID supports it. In
Step 3 you made a note of your phones CID version. Check this against the firmware you want. The CID
number is next to the firmware e.g. R1JG001 CID52.
If your phones CID match’s the firmware CID you will need 1 credit to upgrade your phone.
If your phones CID is 49 or 51 and firmware is CID 52 you must buy 2 credits, 1 for CID update and 1 for
flashing, The CID update is permanent and is only required once, in the future you will not need to do it again.
You cannot downgrade your CID version, therefore you can only either use firmwares that are equal too your
CDA or upgrade your CDA to a newer version.
CID 49 upgrade to CID 52 only requires 1 credit.

Step 6 – Credit(s) Purchase
Please, contact to nearest Infinity-Box reseller or to [email protected]

Step 7 – Starting the upgrade
Start the client, type your user id and password in the box (user id consists of numbers only).
Click the check button to see if your user id and password are correct, you should see a message with the
amount of credits you have, if you get the ‘invalid account’ message then you have entered the incorrect details,
please check and retry making sure there are no spaces before or after.
Reinsert battery, do NOT power on the phone.

Next click start, hold the service key then plug in the USB cable, now let go of the service key, once again the
phone info will be displayed.

1 – Check if you phone model detected correctly.
2 – Select the firmware version required.
3 – Select the CDA.
4 – Select additional options (see phone information page for details, items that are greyed out are not available
for your phone).
5 – Click the continue button to start the procedure.
6 – Now the firmware files will be downloaded and flashed to your phone.
Note:
The downloading speed is determined by your connection speed.
Flashing speed is between 5 and 8 minutes.
7 – That’s it, your phone has been upgraded

8 – Now reinsert the battery and power it up, you will see the ‘Please wait’ message, your phone is re-
configuring the new firmware and will take a few minutes, once this is completed you can power it off, replace
your memory card and sim card and re-power up.
If you encountered a problem at any stage check our support, if you still cannot resolve it contact to
[email protected], attach the ‘.log’ file (located in the folder where the Client application is) and give a

detailed explanation of the problem, also include your PC specification, phone model, firmware and CDA versions
you have selected.

Note about Vodafone:
Some vodafone branded phones have a physical change on the keypad, two keys are switched around. To date
we know of the following models affected by this. they are:
K800, K610, V630, W850 and possibly some other models.

The End

MANY THANKS INFINITY TEAM FOR THIS MANUAL GUIDE
