Red face Infinity virgin needs help

Ok I've got this far;

Quote:
4.2. Driver installation (W2K/XP)

1. Run: Infinity_Drv.exe

After this installation part will be completed, make the next steps:

2. Run: Program Files\InfinityBox\Drivers\e-gate_W2k_XP\Setup.exe

3. Insert Box dongle into USB port

Your system now have three new devices:

1. e-gate Virtual Reader Enumerators -> e-gate Virtual Reader Enumerator

2. Smart card readers -> e-gate USB Smart card reader

3. e-gate USB Smart Cards -> e-gate USB Smart Card

4. Insert Cable and select drivers from folder: Program Files\InfinityBox\Drivers\Cable

4.3. Serial Number reader installation

1. Run: Infinity_SNReader.exe

2. Reboot PC

3. Insert dongle and run SNReader.exe:you will get UserName and Passord for support area access at http://www.infinity-box.com
I can't get the SNReader to read my box, I get this http://tinypic.com/96kfox.jpg !

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance...

Remove everything and do a clean install again, but this time only install Infinity_DRV.exe, than plug your USB dongle, not the box!!! When searching for new hard ware point it to Program Files\InfinityBox\Drivers\e-gate_W2k_XP\
After that run SNreader.exe. and Enjoy.

Hello,

Pls, check in Device Manager: these 3 devices have to be present.
1. e-gate Virtual Reader Enumerators -> e-gate Virtual Reader Enumerator
2. Smart card readers -> e-gate USB Smart card reader
3. e-gate USB Smart Cards -> e-gate USB Smart Card

Also, install SN-Reader installer again, restart PC and try to run SN-Reader.exe again.

Hi InfinitySupport,

Thanks for the support so far.

Ok I have ;

1. e-gate Virtual Reader Enumerators -> e-gate Virtual Reader Enumerator
2. Smart card readers -> e-gate USB Smart card reader

But not ;

3. e-gate USB Smart Cards -> e-gate USB Smart Card

http://tinypic.com/96w0vk.jpg

Should I do as The Beast suggested, as that usually works with unlocking boxes ?

Hi,

Yes, you can try this advice.

But first:
Do you see Dongle LED blinking when you insert/remove dongle into/from USB ?

Hi,

Yep, it blinks about 3/4 times green as I insert it into the USB port .

But is it ment to blink when I remove it ? Because it doesn't but the PC makes the usual noise, so the dongle seems ok to me.

Hi,

Do you see dongle LED blinking when you insert dongle into PC ?

Are you sure that you can't see all 3 (three) devices:
1. e-gate Virtual Reader Enumerators -> e-gate Virtual Reader Enumerator
2. Smart card readers -> e-gate USB Smart card reader
3. e-gate USB Smart Cards -> e-gate USB Smart Card

dongle LED does NOT blink

when i plug-in dongle , in Device Manager more Devices detected BUT the three(3) mentioned.

ONLY THIS
1. ports(com & PLT )
- USB serial port(com 20)
2. Universal serial bus controller
-generic usb hub
-usb serial converter
