Unhappy New CM2 user trying to use it on Lenovo P2 p2a42 and failing. pls help

So, I've recently purchased Infinity Chinese Miracle II dongle and decided to apply it to a Lenovo P2 (p2a42) to "learn the ropes"

Immediately ran into several issues

Problem 1:

While I've managed to install the EDL driver as explained on forum and EDL functionality almost works, there are issues with how it works.

Specifically, there's problem when downloading firmware (it breaks)

Code:
ERROR : Failed to read data! Unexpected end of data!
HINT : Check cable, connection and drivers!
(can't post full log because forum thinks it's a link and blocks)

Using a different methodology (can't post link because new user, but it's basically a bunch of batch files, a firehose file for this model, and an executable, bundled into a DIY tool) from a Russian forum allows me to download all partitions without any breakage, so this problem is definitely not on the "phone side" and not cables (also, I tried 5 cables!)

Problem 2:

problem 2 is that the CM2 tool outright refuses to see Diag port.

The diag port is 100% working (checked by making QPST / QFIL do stuff to phone via Diag) and I tried many drivers including the usually suggested 9006 ones, CM2 just won't see the diag.

P.S.:
I realize the phone is old but I very much need a tool with good support for this model (firmware dump and IMEI change/repair first and foremost!).

Is it perhaps possible to do something to help improve support of it in CM2, like maybe sending full firmware dump (made by 4PDA methodology mentioned above) or even whole phone to Infinity Team ?

Hi,
install drivers that you was able to use with your other software. Use cable that you was able to use with your other software. And then try to use Infinity software.
The only way to help to improve support for model that has a problem is - post software operation log text.
Also if you have any kind of link to discussion ad 4pda you can post it here also so we will check it. If forum do not allow to post links you can modify original link.

Tried that.

Scenario 1:
QPST / QFILL successfully saves and restores QCN backups.

Then I stop all qualcomm software and start CM2.

I try to initiate QCN backup from CM2.

Result: timeout, CM2 fails to see the port

Scenario 2:
Tried verifying via QFIL/QPST, shutting down Qualcomm soft, then unplugging USB cable.

Starting CM2, then initiating a QCN backup process from CM2.
When prompted, I plug in the cable.

Result: same as above, timeout, CM2 fails to see the port

Is there perhaps a way to tell CM2 which port is the diag port? Like manual port choice in Qualcomm software?

forum does not allow me to post the log output or post link to anything, says I have not enough number of posts .

Could you please ask someone in the administration of this forum to lift this limit from me?

I have installed drivers from the support area (the installer files) but which driver should I use for diag port?

I have diag currently open after installing the drivers and rebooting the computer.

It autodetects as Lenovo HS USB Diag.

CM2 still ignores it.

When I try to use "update drivers" I now have a vast number of Qualcomm ports to choose from manually, trying each one would be very hard.

Could you please say what driver type/name should I use for CM2 to recognize it?

I did that.

The port still autodetects as LENOVO Diag and is not picked up by CM

I need to pick the right driver via manual driver install (there are now a LOT of Diag port driver options there)

What is the name of one I need?

Hello PASSIONATE_BOYS

I've tried it on a clean install PC, fresh drivers (ONLY ones installed from support section), fresh install of infinity box

Same result.

Infinity box can not see the diag port.

Qualcomm software can work through same diag port.

Can I do something to further debug this?

Is there a way to "manually" point Chinese Miracle 2 to a particular port (say, COM10 or somesuch?)

It is war setting up Qualcomm driver for use by CM2QLM.. While other tool accept drivers in use, CM2QLM will not comply with the drivers...

You need emergency driver...

Hi netvision!
Thanks, but I've already figured out the emergency download / care suite driver part

What I can't figure out is the Diag driver part - which is what I need for IMEI change/repair functionality
