Problem with chinese Vertu

Hi!

I've an Ascent RM267v (Ferrari) in hands. I've tried to find its pinout using pinfinder, but the phone makes beeps (sometimes) when using pinfinder, and the software can't detect its pinout. Of course, I tried to deactivate power-on sounds (well, the phone vibrates ALWAYS when it's turned on, and it can't be deactivated). But I can power on the phone plugged to pinfinder, so I think that it isn't the problem.

I've found that you've this pinout in pinfinder list, so I've selected it (I though: well, I can't find the pinout by myself, but they did it.. great!). But I'm trying to read fullflash in chinesemiracle software, and it isn't possible. The phone isn't detected. I've tried also inverting pins, changing TX to RX and viceversa, and I wasted my time.

I hope you can help me.

Best Regards,

hello!

sometimes phone makes sounds while pinout search.
just ignore this and wait pinout search end.
if phone can be powered On from box power- pinout has to be found.
Increase finder activation tries to "20" and repeat search

Another try, with CPU independent option:

software version: 1.20
cable type: 1x12 (L12C)
platform: CPU independent (autodetect) algorithm
searching adapter at COM8...
adapter found, version: 2000
pins: 12, plain
power cycles: 3
activation cycles: 20
power-off delay: 20
start Rx/Tx: 1/1
Loading configuration...
Initializing...
Phone should be Powered-On !
Power-On phone now and press "Ok"
Be sure that phone is not in sleep mode during pinout detection !
Press any phone key from time to time to wake-up phone.
detecting pins...
failed to detect pins
time required: 547 sec
Set parameter to value 20 (or more) and repeat operation (parameter "Finder activation tries")

OK I did some investigation:

CPU is MT6225. RX 4, TX5 (I found pinout by disassembling its original datacable).

I'm trying to read its fullflash with infinity, but no way!

Log:

COM8 [VCP0] selected
module v3.11
Device: Autodetect 6205-6227 NOR
Checking data, wait...
advanced flash detection enabled
Action: read flash
====> Boot ...
Press and HOLD Power button now !
19200 fixed
Connecting, wait...
error: boot phase#1 failed
Release Power button now !
in case of initial connection problem: on/off "Boot baudrate autoselect"
Boot Fail
Finished, time used: 3 sec
Remove/Install battery now !

It only recognizes the phone if I try with it's battery. Powering the phone with pinfinder, it does nothing.

Hi!

It's an MT6225 CPU... so it's MTK Also, when I type *#0044# + CALL, it says that phone is set to english.

hello!

For extra surety you can check pinout in L12C by measuring voltage on system connector pins.
if you fail again- look for test points on PCB

Hi!

I looked at PCB test points, and I found TX, RX, GND, VBAT and ON.

Following Infinity Box pinout (1 VCC, 2 TX, 3 RX, 7 & 8 GND) i've soldered my cable directly at these points. I've solder PIN2 (TX) to TX point. PIN3 (RX) to RX point. PINS 8 & 9 (GND) to GND point. It didn't worked, Infinity can't detect the phone. At last, I tried soldering PIN1 (VCC) to VBAT point, so I can try without battery. But that doesn't helps.

Any idea?

hello!

this is common mistake.
pin2 TX must be connected to phone RX!
and otherwise pin3 RX goes to phone TX

OK problem solved! Maybe TX and RX signals aren't in the phone connector (I suppose). But I can work with PCB test points.

Thank you a lot for your help!

Find Rx .tx Signles easyyy
HOW TO FIND RX .TX SIGNLES .

It is tasted and also you can test it.

1 step is, we need to find GND from phone.

2 step is, we should power on phone (operation with dead phone:
phone must be 100% dead by software)and take multimater put it to voltage.

3 multimeter (-) line put it GND and with (+) line check each connectors
, and usually Tx= 1.8v or 2.8v and Rx=1.7v or 2.7v
(it will be change by processor but strongly 1.7v or 2.8v not 3v or 4v)
This way is too easy and you will save a more time.
