Try to use ordinary COM port cable instead of Unibox.

For now you have box (so called Unibox with FT232 chip inside) that connected to PC USB port via usb cable.
Inside box located so called "usb-rs232 converter".
This "converter" create in your PC system so called "virtual COM port".
So for now you use that so called "virtual COM port" instead of genuine COM port.

In some cases it's better to use genuine COM port (or another virtual COM port type) instead of virtual com port.

So I make an offer to you: if you have a problems with connection you can try to use other cable, f.e. cable based on another "usb-rs232 converter type", f.e. so called "Prolific" converter.
Also you can use try to use genuine COM port.

Also, you can try to adjust port settings:

p.s.
if you did not understand an advice in my first message well I strongly suggest you to learn about cables/phones, about Rx.Tx etc. so in several years of hard work you will be able to be the real professional.
