Red Infinity Box FT232BM IC burned ... - GSM-Forum

My long and good working Infinity box was loose USB->COM interface today... look like FT232 is burned, because goes hot and both LED light. So need to be replaced. The question is - need to be programed after replace or not?

ft232 is only controller usb-rs232 /com/ /kupuval sum ot Comet v SF/

btw,all info are stored in external eeprom(if exist)..

Only need to change it.....around 12lv in Sofia.

Infinity-Box use unibox just like a usb/com converter/cable. You can program unibox eeprom with any data that you need (or even leave it blank) and it's absolutely not important for Infinity-Box software functionality.

Yes - all is true... just simple USB -> serial and replace work ... smart card subsystem is separated and do not check controler ... was burned in fight with chinese N95 2SIM slider due to wrong pinouts used ( Multi-Box picture ) ...
BTW - Infinity work better that Multi ( even the big advertising wind from GSM-Tricks ) on chinese phones ... successfully repaired few pcs. The main problem is that in 1/2 of cases SW faults come from bad HW quality ...
