V170 Conversion 850Mhz/1900Mhz to 900Mhz/1800Mhz

V170 Conversion 850Mhz/1900Mhz to 900Mhz/1800Mhz

Gadgets needed Infinity box

There are 3 kinds of HW of V170.the Xingular,Tracfone OLD HW and Tracfone New HW

Dissassemble the Unit:

So Lets Do The Hardware Modification First:

Original State of Band (850Mhz / 1900Mhz)

Band Change State (900Mhz / 1800Mhz)

Original State of SAW Filters

Changing 2 SAW Filters to Capacitors came from 8210,3210,3530 and add to resistor if

needed..for me i add 2 additional resistor and 1 capacitor in the vacant filter (Middle)

NOTE:
if your HW is OLD one no need to cut the TP or Remove the N1 Ball fron the CPU...Just unlock

it or if you want to debrand it Flash it,In case Your HW is New or Tracfone Here is the TP:

[/IMG]
This TP Is for OLD Tracfone (Cut Track)..This TP is came from Infinity Support,Try this

first Before you Remove the N1 Ball..

HOW:

1: Removing The CPU,and after removing Remove N1 ball and Mount it Back to the Board.after

mounting,You can Flash and Unlock the Unit.and after flashing you must remove again the CPU

and Mount it back together with the N1 ball.

2: Use Number 0 string of a guitar and Hook it to the N1 Ball, and Reheat the portion of the

CPU,near the N1 ball and Pull it out gently, and if you remove the N1 ball,Now you can Flash

and Unlock the UNit and After its Done,Put a llittle Ball of lead in Between the N1 ball and

reheat Gently the CPU untill it molds itself...Very Risky but thats the only Way...

Then flash the unit..

1: Open your Infinity Shell and Click Motorola,Click V170 Model...Check which com ports will

You use:USB to Serial or Com1.( Note Sometimes you will encounter errors on your USB to

Serial because of your Latency Time..the default is 16 change the Value to 8)
Check Repair Mode,Check Soft Restore and Check try to Power-on After Flash.Use X60 cales

came from your infinity Box..or T191 Cables.

2: Click the Flash Tab,and Flash it with V172 Firmware..(tested no errors)Check main select

main Firmware,Laguage and Flex..with Smart Write and Safe Mode..

Here are the Firmware,Unrar it:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SSS55PWF

3: After Successfully Flashing the unit it will Power Up itself,it means its working

already,But after powering it off it will not power again,Thats Normal.

4: Click Service Tab, SP-Unlock.After Unlock User/Phone/Lockcode must be reset in case.after

all is done. The unit is Not powering On.because the TP (Cut Track)or the N1 ball is still

not bring back to its original State.Which is Connect Cut Track and remount N1 Ball..

5: Reminder:

Never connect the CUT Track or Mount the N1 balls Until,Flashing,Unlocking, reseting is done

Because,it will not connect again...

Hello,

Probably yes. You need to find C168 service manual with schematic and check it to see what is HW difference.
