Hello Great Infinity Team...
As u all know the process of killing Smart card is a new Attack in GSM field from few days...As i read the FractalizeR post here

As been said "Destructive software lists connected card readers in system and kills the first card it finds"
and
If the first card happened to be PKey card, you can see the result immediately. I will stop updating. But if that was a, say, SETool card, there will be no result at all because no SETool update server exist.

as we all know infinity smart card is also updateable
i,e we update firmware when requested ...
does the risk of running such killer soft also affect the Infinity Smartcard ?

Only a question in my mind...

Yes, in theory Infinity-Box cards can be under attack too due to Infinity-Box smart-card is ordinary smart-card.
For now we have no any examples or user's reports about any kind of Infinity-Box smart-cards damage so I don't think we have serious reason to worry, but anyway, we are trying to check this situation carefully.

this means, after using bb5 software update your pkey, then the error counter is refilled and we can use bb5king again (but error counter decrises) and after this again update your card to refill the error counter?

mebey this is the reason way my cards (3. pcs) works after using bb5king all versions without problems.


how mutch trys has such smartcards? like pincodes 3 times?
or is it variable from prooducer or programmer?

say, pkey have 3 times and infinity have 10 times?
so infinity card hold longer, but after a time it also gets demaged...



(becouse after every successfull auth of smartcard, error counter refill itself like a pincode try from
simcard).

Smart-cards that was used by Infinity-Box has some difference (counter has more than 3 tries, other card-reader, hardware interface is different) in compare with JAF smart-card but theory and communication is very similar.
So if it was released any kind of software that has a target to kill smart-cards (we can see very different explanations about situation from people who involved in JAF project) connected to PC we have a quite danger situation and all smart-cards is under attack.
In fact 10 tries in compare with tries gives zero advantage due to time required to make 3 or 10 tries is very small (just a seconds), so I suggest to everybody to be quite careful.

Yes, this kind of attack you can call a "virus".

for safety i always unplug any smart card and i work only with one smart card concerned for work

Dear Friends,

This story is in progress and last days we have received another information about damaged smart-card.

During smart-card upgrade process it was detected that Infinity-Box smart-card become damaged:
This "damaged" card is works well with Infinity-Box software but this card can not be upgraded any more due to smart-card keys become damaged.
This kind of damage CAN NOT be a result of Infinity-Box software usage, it may be a result of other software activity only, f.e. any kind of harmful software that has an aim to damage smart-cards.

More serious information: we was informed some time ago that somebody have released new software that damage smart-cards "just for fun" and kill/damage smart-cards that connected to PC.
I hope everybody can understand that we do not put any links to this harmful software, we just want to remind you that you should be very careful when you run any unknown software at your PC !

We have got one more report about damaged smart-card: smart-card works well but card can not be updated any more (and new updates is unavailable for this smart-card dongle).
