When do we use this adaptor

I bought my pin finder adaptor lately and in the package there's an adaptor which looks like a 'vpp adaptor for Ufsx Hwk' i have put an attachment. http://rapidshare.com/files/247027897/adaptor.jpg.html what does it do and when do we use it. I checked in the manual and it's never talked about.
