| Wx290 - After flashing, no signal, then dead Unlocked 312 pieces, but 8 stopped during unlocking, so unlocked them again, and all ok, except 1. so, flashed phone with M290A-APSAR1-666_XP66GC15_JRD23_08A_PCB01_GPRS_MT6223P_S00.MAUI _08A_W08_36_SP1_V40_F5_2010-04-23_En_Nl_Fr_Es_Pt.B0M.bin Flashed ok, no errors, but phone didnt get carriers signal. So I read firmware from other wx290, already unlocked, and flashed to this one, issue persisted. So, I read full flash from working phone, and flashed to this one, no errors, but phone does not turn on anymore. Tried to unlock again, and got this: Code: COM9 [VCP0] selected

| Hello, As I can see phone original firmware version was: provider: M290X-DAAVBR1 customization: XP66GK19 It was simfree 290X phone (for Europe), so it can not take signal in America due to band difference. Please, check, what is exact model name (from phone back label). |

| Hello, Phone is 290x. Please dont misunderstand AMERICA with USA. USA is a country that uses 850/1900, while America is a big continent, with 3 portions (North, Central and South). Brazil, as others, uses 900/1800 band, so phone have to get carriers signal, as the others 319 did. br |

| Hello, Yes, I know what is USA and what is America, but anyway, thanks for explanation ![]() I thought that almost all operators in whole America (North, Central, South) use 850/1900. If in your country you have 800/1900 bandd you have to flash phone with another 290X firmware (X is for 800/1900, A for 850/1800) and see results. Probably you have to try to use several firmware files to get results. |

| If you have flashed "A" phone with "X" firmware and if you see no signal - this means that it is need to modify phone hardware, not only change firmware. You can try and see results, I will be glad to see what was your results. |

Claro: 900/1800 Mhz Oi: 900/1800 Mhz TIM: 900/1800 Mhz Vivo: 850/1900 Mhz Its quite common Vivo Operator sell dualband phones with lowest prices, because they "think" that it cant be unlocked for another carries. So, as peoples search for prices first, they buy dualband cells from Vivo and comes to unlock to another carries. Have here a WX290 from Vivo (850/1900 Mhz): version: 666 provider: M290A-DATLBR1 customization: CP66GM1D customization: XP66GM1D Phone is unlocked but, ofcourse, no signal in other carries: ![]() So, id flashed phone with file "M290X-DAAVBR1-666_XP66GK19_JRD23_08A_PCB01_GPRS_MT6223P_S00.MAUI _08A_W08_36_SP1_V40_F5_2010-04-23_En_Nl_Fr_Es_Pt.B0M", removing signal filter and making jumper (same as Nokia 1616). Now, phone fully working in 900/1800 Mhz operators (Claro, TIM and OI). ![]() Regards. Cryspim | |
