Smile 6280 v3.81 --> dead --> v6.10. Finally worked!

Thought I could share this if someone has similar problems getting the 'Dead phone USB flash' to work:

I started off knowing that I had to do this xtra flash when jumping from 3.81 to 6.10, but was expecting it to be over in a few hours. This was absolutely not the case!
Installed Phoenix 2006_44_6_163 (and Diego 3.09) and used the CA-53 that came with the phone. The flashing seemed to go well for quite a while, until it failed/stopped as expected. Next up, I tried numerous times getting the 'Dead phone USB flash' to work, and spent a lot of hours on it. I also tried upgrading to Phoenix 2007, but still no luck (always using the 'NO CONN.') The result was always 'Failed to send config command to bootcode Error code: 0x84009427' and 'HRESULT 0x84009427'.

The final solution was to install Phoenix 2006_04_6_130 / Diego 3.07 SP2 on another PC! (maybe it could have worked on the 1st one after cleaning and fresh install). Dead phone flashed with 6.10 (using USB cable) straight away!

No, it won't work straight away 3.81 to 6.10... I don't know why, but first time flashing completes and phone dead... Then after dead phone usb flashing with very same 6.10, and very same phoenix, works ok... Funny, but i have done more than 10pcs same way...

Best regards

Yes you got it right, press phone's power button when Phoenix demand that and in about 5-6 min it should be ready and your phone is working again
But, dont play anymore with other function in cracked version of Phoenix, it's working just for flashing BB5 and not all models are supported dead usb,
lucky you 6280 is supported

Ive had a 6280 on my desk for the last 1.5 years cos it was dead. Everytime a new firmware version was released, I'd try and make it come alive again, but until 6.10 was released, it never worked.

I flashed it with latest version (6.10), from 3.81 2 days ago, and phone is now alive. I used Dead USB fashing and JAF box.

Well, i can tell wich models are not supported dead usb till now 6630, 6680, E70, N70, N71, N72, N80, N90, N91, the rest of BB5 should be working with Phoenix, but i've tested only 6270 and 6280.
So, if anyone have succesfully revived other models by usb with Phoenix, Jaf or MT, post here and let us know.
