i've just tried to unlock my n70, was told to open cfg file and write my com port no. there, done that but still says unable to open com port. can anyone help please??

I know it sounds silly but are you saving the cfg file with the new COM port number over the old file

yes the old one says "COM2:" so i've saved over with COM4: which is what the properties say my port no. is

Can you tell me a bit more. What cable r u using? DKU2 or DKU5? have u saved the new cfg file with same name and extension?

maybe some other device is using the same port on your pc or you are using a copy cable which does not work.

Re-install DK soft and your dku5 cable.. your problem will solved..

I am using a CA-53 cable that came with my phone.
This apparently supports FBUS operation.

You must have the latest version of that cable driver. Download at www.nokia.com.

CA-53 wont work you need DKU-5 or CA-42 these are the only USB cables supporting FBUS i also use a Prolific USB to COM cable with COM to PS2 cable with a old dataone PS2 pop port cable sounds messy but i have done over 100 phones and not one had a corrupted security area

Hi. I just unlocked my N70 using a CA-53 USB cable. I adapted it to Fbus by plugging into a scrap USB socket running through a CH340G USB to serial (Fbus) adapter, connecting to a WinXP Dell laptop. Jumper the Serial device to 3.3 volts. I will expand on this if people are interested.
