Did BB5 SL3 Destroy Nokia? - GSM-Forum

For years, Nokia were by far the biggest selling handset manufacturer in the world. Nokia have now been knocked off their perch at the top by the likes of iPhone, Blackberry and HTC. Nokia and the press have said this is because Nokia was not ready for the SmartPhone revolution, but what do you think?

In my opinion BB5 SL3 has been a major contribution in Nokia's downfall. Most people know how difficult it is to get these handsets unlocked and this knowledge will drive even the biggest Nokia fan to other handset manufacturers!

I think is because they change chargers , and this is the main problem that u can't use old phones with new chargers .
U think a loot , think about this conspiracy .

as a professionnal in mobilphone bizness my own point of view is that dm3 project are the only guilty.the nokia programmers release sl3 only to get money end giving wrong face to the registred mark NOKIA DM3 Unlocking Service .
NB an old man say {if you dont know where you go better back where you come from}

I don't recall anyone mentioning a conspiracy, do you? Oh and the press were simply echoing an official Nokia statement - I'm sure if you Google you will find it somewhere

If you think back to when SL2 was first introduced, how long was it before anyone gave a full working public unlocking solution ?

It was longer than the time SL3 has been in the market so far. Be patient and I am sure you and your fellow PROFESSIONAL unlockers will have public unlocking....preferably FREE of course

not here where i live.

nokia is the cheapest phone in my country.... blackberry, SE, samsung are not that popular compare to nokia.... not to mention its user-friendly features...

now adding to nokia's popularity.... is the possibility of getting it unlock which means flexibility to choose which service provder to use.

no. it will not be nokia downfall. i think its their advantage.
