Phoenix is more complete, but if you don't have the original nokia hw can't use advaced functions....

Nokia Care Suite, have the same routines, but more quick and intuitive if you need only a simple flasher

Getting following error on clean install on WinXP:

Product: Nokia Care Suite 4.0 -- Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Service Layer\C\Service Modules\ServiceModule_00003\msxml4.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147023782. Contact your support personnel.

Of course, you have to open Tools/Phone Recovery, select your model, the USB port and start recovery

Register the File Manually
To register a specific file again in the registry, while you are working in Microsoft Windows, follow these steps:
a) Click Start and then type cmd in the start search bar.
b) Right click on the result and select Run as Administrator.
c) In the Open window, type the following command, and then hit Enter.
RegSvr32 <filename>
Where <filename> is the name of the file specified in Error 1904 (msxml4.dll in your case)

when you try to recover a dead phone wich usb port do you select?

Hi, depend of connected devices in your pc.
If the phone it's the only device plugged on USB you can select the first port avaiable on selection

Let me know if works well or have troubles recognising the dead phone.

Br, when I install nokai care suite shows roll back action after few second of installation. Why?

i formated the pc, installed xp and then the program

it's a dead phone... phoenix flash the phone well with the option "no connection"

your program keeps telling me to turn phone on when you get 50% of the process (when finishes the download of the firmware and begin the flash)

phone is in usb 1 (autodetected by the program)
