Member: 687144 Status: Offline Sonork: 1614780 Thanks Meter: 228 | * Firstly, you need to install FExplorer, a free file manager that allows us to browser through S60 file system. * Next, launch FExplorer and then browser to c:\system folder. There is a file, called mmcstore. * Rename the file to mmcstore.txt and then open it. Your password must be several characters at the end of the file. For S60 3rd Phones, Nokia N-Series and Nokia E-Series Unfortunately, there is no way to recover the password in the latest S60 phones. The only way that I know so far is by reformatting the memory card. It can be done from Memory Card application by selecting Options | Format memory card menu. Of course, you will lose all your data in the memory card… If any of you have experience unlocking password of memory card in latest S60 phones, feel free to share it here. Compatible devices: S60 1st, 2nd, 3rd Edition, Nokia Nseries, Nokia Eseries. Update (27-Mar-07): I have written another posting about password-protected memory card on Another Tip for Password-protected Memory Card. This mostly applies to Nokia Eseries |

Some MMC cards have either hardware or software locking mechanisms that prevent unauthorized people from accessing or modifying their contents. Unfortunately, this can mean that you may end up accidentally locking yourself out of your own MMC card. There are several different ways that you can attempt to unlock your MMC card to access its data. .Difficulty: ModerateInstructions.Things You'll Need: USB cable or card reader 1Check the bottom end of the MMC card to see if it has a locking switch. Push the switch into the "unlock" position and attempt to access the data on the card again. 2Navigate your web browser to the FeExplorer download page if the MMC card is password protected. Download and install the FeExplorer software. 3Connect the USB cable from your electronics device to an open USB port on your computer. Open the FeExplorer program. 4Select the drive letter that corresponds to your electronics device. Choose "Browse" and access the folder labeled "System." 5Locate the file named "mmcstore." Right-click and file and choose "Rename." Rename the file to "mmcstore.txt." 6Drag the file to your desktop and double-click it. Scroll down to the end of the text file. Read the last line of text to find the password for the MMC card. 7Navigate to the "lock code" screen on your device and enter in the code contained in the text file to unlock the MMC card. 8Close the FeExplorer program if there was no password listed or the password did not work.
