my n73 problem??? - GSM-Forum

hi, i got a nokia n73 personally, having some problems. the phone is new but it keeps freezing and turing off sometimes when answering phone calls or making call, i replaced the phone and the problem still exists.

who ever else has this same handset personally, do you have any problems with this phone or something similar.

also my n73: v2.0628.0.0.1

what is the latest version?? i cant acces jaf support rite now so i cannot check.

Hi Bro
The Latest Version For N73 is
RM-133_EMEA_2.0628.0.0.3_v2.0.exe

U can try upgrade ur Fone firmware version and it may solve those Problems.

Mine N73 work OK

with same soft version like yours.
But mine is from Swicerland store

and made in Finland

I am now on my 4th replacement handset with the same software version of 2.0628.0.0.1, my handset is locked to Voda & all they say is send the handset back if you encounter the same problems. (4 days waiting in for the courior)

The problems I have is when I turn my handset off & switch it back on it reverts back to the factory settings meaning I cannot have my own wallpaper, theme or ringtones.

Now I managed to get onto the JAF support site today & there is a newer version of soft but will it void any warrenty I have with the handset if I flash it???? I presume it will & if it happens to go faulty again Voda will not exchange it.

Why have Nokia not loaded this version into the handsets before they dispatch them to network providers yet they are freely available on JAF support site.

Well, I received my 4th N73 replacement from Nokia on Monday of this week & 5 days on it has gone fauly AGAIN, I have spoken to my network provider & they offered my a 5th replacement but I told them to shove it up their arse so I will now be receiving a Nokia N80 on Tuesday, can you believe they wanted to charge me another £100 for the N80 yet they claim I'm one of their best customers so I said Orange can offer me the N80 for free & guess what after 10 secs of speaking to his superviser they can give me the N80 for free as long as I stay with the network.

The point of this thread is dont take any sh!t from your network provider if they cant give you, the customer, what you want, lets hope the N80 doesnt give me any problems as I have heard its a top bollock phone.

@thcoms N80 slider cant handle the usage & N80 just as buggy soft anyway

so youre better off with the N73 all you have to do is update firmware-get it done at nokia service if youre worried about warranty invalidation.

After checking out several phones including the N80 and N91 I recently got the N73. A couple of different shops (Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse) told me that they were not restocking on the N80 because they were having so much trouble with them and the returns rate was horrendous.

When I rang Vodafone to upgrade/renew my contract, the guy there confirmed the tale about the N80 stating that is was being discontinued.

If that is true, and I got it from 3 genuine sources, it doesn't say a lot for the N80 does it. Steer clear would be my advice!

i have problems with my N73 too. When i open cameras so called mechanical shutter, it doesnt start with camera mode. But if i firmly press the back side of suutter it will open but sometimes not. What you guys think? wheres the problem? i think i have to open the mechanical shutter and DIY fixing... mine is sim free and does not come with warranty although Made in Finland...

I have the same problem whit phone call if i store then to phone book phones rings one then then freeze and restarts
