6730c - Phone Startup Failed contact the retailer.

Hi Folks,

I am new to this forum and I need help. Please bear with me as I am not knowledgeable in Nokia stuffs but I have a decent computer skill which may be required.

Anyway, I have a Nokia 6730c which suddenly started showing "Phone Started failed. Contact the retailer" when I switch on the phone. Once the message is displayed, the screen would dim out and switch off. Basically the phone is like dead. So I have done some research and tried a hard reset, i.e *+3+call button followed by power. I have tried that dozens of times but it won't reset/reformat the phone. I have also removed the mini sd card + sim, retry the above, no luck.

Vodafone, my supplier won't help as the contract has already passed. Now I am left on my own. I have seen forums mentioning sx4 or mxbox but am not clear what these technologies are and how to install / use them. So this is the reason I am here today. If anyone can help me repair this phone, I would be much thankful as I am struggling to fix this problem.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi again,

I managed to refurbish the 6730c with phoenix using RM-566 and see the log below - It appears to be successful but when I restart the phone, I see the Nokia logo and it gives me again "Phone startup failed. Contact the retailer". I am really out of ideas and need desperate help. Can someone kindly help me please? Thanks again.

contact service or contact retailer is mainly software problem like sdd damaged, simlock damaged, imei corrupted etc.

If you don't have any box, then its virtually impossible to repair that phone.

Better repair it at shop than trying to figure out the solution. This involves purchasing boxes, dongles and lots of technical knowledge.
