Member: 1838865 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | nokia 6500S need help for firmware update I own a Nokia 6500S phone since 3 years ago( it was new purchased from the Orange local dealer) and I am stuck with a problem. The sdhc card supplied with the phone is already too small for my actual needs and I want to use a higher capacity one. Reading on the internet I've found out that even 16GB sdhc cards could be used but there is a glitch, the phone's firmware has to be higher than v 9.40 or higher. My phone came with I have no idea which firmware version as I upgraded to V 8.30 after installing Nokia pc suite. The probem is that nokia pc suite tells me that v 8.30 is the latest firmware update available, which is not correct, the latest i guess is 12.35. Anyway, after checking the firmware version witn *#0000# those are the details I get: Nokia 6500s-1 V 08.30 03-07-08 RM-240 (c)Nokia Variant: 67.01 Language: V 08.30 03-07-08 RM-240 (c) Nokia BOR I've tried to update the firmware using the Nokia pc suite but it says that I have the latest version available. I assume that latest version V 08.30 is the latest available for my language but i wouldn't mind to have english only and still be able to update the firmware to the latest possible so I could make use of a higher capacity (8GB but i'd preffer to achieve a 16GB ) sdhc card. On the other hand I have to say that the phone is locked in Orange network Romania, but I don't necessary want to unlock it as I don't plan to use it in another network. So, is there any other software available (apart of the nokia pc suite) for upgrading the firmware? I know many other firmware updates were released after v8.30, i already downloded various versions but I need your guidance. So what do i need to do, what software to use for upgrade, do I need to unlock the phone in order to be able to install a better firmware than the "latest" V8.30 provided by nokia suite? I suppose the romanian language pack has to be somehow injected into the other languages pack of a higher version of firmware, but I can use english so it is not mandatory.
