hi i got a nokia e50, locked to vodafone.. i think this phone is a dct4 not bb5.. will this utility still work with my phone? i tried to use few unlock codes but still cant unlock my phone.. any advise?

Hello Fr3nsis,

I'm having a problem similar to Sanjivus. I have a Nokia C3-00 locked to a USA carrier (ConsumerCellular). I have been given the unlock code by the carrier, but I think I entered it incorrectly too many times, so now I need to reset the counter, but Nokia BB5 USB Utility does not see my phone. I have the phone set to the Nokia OVI Suite mode, I have .Net Framework 4.0 installed. I have tried version 2.8, 2.5 and a previous version of the utility. I have even tried this on 4 different computers with the same result, "Phone not connected". I have also tried the other USB modes, Media Transfer and Mass Storage. I still get the same message, "Phone not connected". Can you offer any help with this.

hi i have nokia 2690 rm635 and have some problems with the phone..how does one flash nokia and how to upgrade software..what does one require to be able to do this..my email software on phone does not let me access my email..get error..and have a certificate issue when i want to download facebook on my phone get error..i have rm635 v10.65..hope someone can help.. thanx

OK, I was able to conect to the phone (with Windows XP and, Net 2.0) and get the utility to see my phone, but I am still not able to unlock the phone. Also, I have a couple of questions about unlocking. First, there is a checkbox for Fbus, do I need this. Second, what is level 1-7.

If it helps, my unlock code from my carrier is in this format.

in your case level is 7
but manual counter is 1 , probably 2 now, so you can insert it manualy with phone keypad
if you get code error so code is wrong

fbus need to check when manual counter is full ( =3 )

Fr3nsis, thanks for your quick reply.

I called my carrier again this afternoon and spoke to someone with a bit more knowledge. I asked him to confirm the unlock code and then I asked him to confirm the IMEI number. It was not correct. It seems they gave me an incorrect unlock code, based on a phone and number I no longer have. He's is going to send me a new SIM chip and correct the account so I can get a proper unlock code. Thanks for a great tool. Without it I would have a useless phone.
