Nokia E71 Factory And System Apps - GSM-Forum

Hi, now this is a very weird problem that I've never had before, but here goes...
When I connect my E71 to my computer with the USB cable, It does nothing. the computer doesn't see it, and the menu asking to select mass storage mode or pc suite mode never comes up on the device. I went and looked in the installation menu and there were no apps. I ended up using sfi and jaf box to flash it. I decided to try something, I connected the USB cable while the FBUS was connected, and sure enough it connected but the computer didn't recognise it. So, my question is, does anyone have a solution? Does anyone know of a way to get the system apps back? Is it a content pack issue? Or something else?

You are very lucky ... Do not connect USB cable and F-bus at the same time, you can destroy some ICs in the phone .
Try to check with any new micro usb cable and another PC , maybe ur comp have some drivers issues . Or micro-usb port in ur phone not soldered for now .

Other cables don't work either. The only time I got a response from USB is when I had the FBUS connected. I kind of think it's a problem with the PM or content pack. There absolutely no factory apps. Weird.

Hm ... This is not right way to connect two cables at the same time, trust me

But what about update ur phone by Phoenix cracked, in dead-mode ?
(but I think something wrong with the phone connector, did you tried another PC with fresh installed Nokia drivers? )
