Member: 51517 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 24 | Serial Com port to Nokia Pop Port Cable (for BB5 unlock) - Tested best of all...no drivers needed, just a PC/Laptop with a COM port!! (and some soldering skills) p.s. i recommend using a DIL chip holder for the MAX232 chip to prevent damage to it! Note: double check the orientation of the Capacitors and make sure they are rated at 16V or higher. Schematic Strip-board Layout - Front Strip-board Layout - Back Enjoy! Member: 488245 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | thanks for the strip board version man one question... i have a CA-53 here, but i don't wanna cut it for the connector, can i use a USB female as output of the circuit and use ca-53 without cutting down it? it seems be pin-to-pin cable. Thanks Last edited by krasny; 05-18-2007 at 02:39. |

For the pop port side of the cable, i actually took it from a basic serial cable ( just has wires, no circuit) which i has bought years back, and de-soldered the connectors from that...they are on ebay for a few quid, i'd just recommend getting one one of them, and building from that. NOTE: you will still have to buy the D-Sub 9 connector cus usually the connector on the cheap cables off ebay only have 3 wires with molded plastic around the connector, so u can't really use that! Good luck | |

Member: 162029 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 202 | There are 2 kinds of dku5 cable in the market. 1 with complete pins the others seems like 5/6 only. the first 1 works and tested it by myself. we all use it on all of our 5 shops. |

Member: 51517 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 24 | i did it manually!! the first circuit schematic is just a re-edit of the original (which didn't look as nice and less clear in my view!) the strip board scematics, i originally made another circuit about a year ago in a desktop publishing program called pageplus (VERY VERY GOOD PROG!) and just edited it for this circuit! took about 1.5-2 hours though :S good to hear |
