Hi

i am curious as to how the unlocker works.

As i understand it, it reads out some data such as imei and possibly field 308, makes some calculations and writes a new value to field 308 or maybe even possibly just enters the correct unlock code thru the F-bus.

But in reality, is this needed ? I would think that what he really have found is the algorithm that is used in BB5 phones and since it was probably changed in newer phones he can make a logger that can calculate the correct codes for old phones but not for new ones.

All this is offcourse speculations but as a tech geek i would like to understand what is really taking place.
