hi everyone...

first, let me explain for the reason why i have to write this article.
i'm using Nokia 5800XM RM-356.
when i purchased this product, it's firmware version was v10.4.016.
and there was an update to v10.4.101 for fixing a disconnect problem while calling.
and about that time, nokia had released v40.0.005.
many of people on this country doubt that the differences of version numbering order.
Service Provider in this country announced that we are using the latest firmware, so there will be no more upgrade.
but, some users had found that our 5800XM has old firmware, and then Service Provider re-announced that was right.
our 5800XM has above v20.x or below v30.x.
so, most users want firmware upgrade and claimed to their Service Provider and Nokia.
but, SP says "the responsibility is on Nokia, you have to contact them."
and Nokia says "No, we don't have the right for upgrading firmware, there was no request to upgrade from your SP. contact to your SP."
both of them pushes the problem to the other side.

it seems there is no way for upgrading firmware by now.
so, i decided to downgrade to v40.x.
the version of ours is v10.x but the compiled time and timestamp are marked on 2010 Jan 06.
as you know, 5800XM has a protection from downgrading firmware.

at this point, i have some questions about it.
1. to perform downgrade, 5800XM must to be unlocked?
2. to perform downgrade, should i have to purchase hardware toolbox? (like Cyclone, JAF, ...)
3. what is the cheapest way to accomplish above jobs?
