Strange case... t18s won't unlock

Hi Ericsson experts,

I have here a very old T18s (99W18) and I tried to unlock it with Atr 5.3, but the phone still said: place right simcard. Then I tried to flash it but still it says: place the right simcard...
I also tried some other programs but the result is still the same. This phone has never been broken or flashed before, so that's not it.

Can someone please help me with this challenging stuff?

Thank you!
Chantal
[email protected]

MAybe your cable is not correct.
Did you remove the simcard when you unlock??
Else try flashing first with T18 sbn file and then unlock.
WBR
Salami1_1

Hi!

Salami1_1 is right!
Try it with ATR 5.0, and after the flash just push the unlock button.

Dear Jarod and Salami,

Thank you for your replies!
I tried all your suggestions (other cable, ATR 5.0, flash first then unlock) but still the phone says: Place right card.

Maybe the phone itself , the simreader or something is broken or does someone still has another suggestion?

Did you already tryed other simcard?
Maybe your simcard is damaged.
Else take a real close look at the simreader in the phone and look if the sim makes good contact with simcard reader and also look if the simreader is good connected on circuit board.
WBR
Salami1_1

Hi Mr Kramer,

You wrote me I should upload the eprom, but how?
The program from Bartek says Write Eprom and then some digits 00000
What should I change, as I'm not a hex-expert?
The phone is from 99W18.

Thank you!
Chantal

Just use ATR 5.3 for writing eeprom.
Then change imei back to original with repair funtion and after that you MUST flash. Use T18 sbn file for that.
I already repaired many T18's that were totally dead in this way.
WBR
Salami1_1
