How to flash new EPOC phones - GSM-Forum

Dear Universal box:

It so nice to see your box support new EPOC flashing ,but after I download all the files ,I have no clue how to open the files and flash.

Please provide some instructions for these new phones ,I get few custoners want to flash Chinese language.

here it is what i do!

Down load all file
Go to Ericsson then EPOC tabs on Uni
Select the Package
Flash

But as far as i know,there is some bugs (check bug reports)with EPOC flashing.
I hopes the team will solve the problem as soon as,

I try to copare p910 and p990,for p910 I flash AVR and PDA1/PDA2/PDA3,but for p990,I still no clue to choose the right package.

For instance,I want to flashing Chinese language,what kinds of package must I choose?

You need to go to Ericsson/EPOC tab
Choose the generic chinese and press flash
there are a problem with the p990 files, you must rename all the files to .bin extension (there are some something.ssw->something.bin)

Upgrade your universal version
then goto sonyericson,then you will find 3 tabs( SMART CARD, UMTS and EPOC) .click on EPOC then u will come to know everything.
select which package u need.
i think there is a chineese version

Renaming ssx to bin olly for P990,how about M600 and W950 ?

If I want to change language,how many files must I choose ? When UMTS we select main ang generic,but in EPOC,we dont have such window to select the files we want to flash,that how it confuse me.

Dear Eigy:
According your screen shot ,if I want to flash Chinese ,I have to chhose Red 49 P990 DPY Generic Hong Kong ZS and flashing so many files ?

Thank you Avroy7 ang Eigy,I sucessfully flash P990 and W950 already,use usb cable with box attached.As long as we download sufficent files,software will pick the files need to flash in.

Click flash button,then press and hold C button and press power button,sw will run by itself.
