Broken UFS serial number

Hi, I have an UFS + Hwk deivce which I bought from China about 6 months ago, and it worked just fine until yesterday. The problem is that it's serial number got suddenly scrambled, I used it last night, I shut down the computer and when I tryed conecting it today it's serial number changed from a 5 digit number to a negative 10 digit number. I tryed conecting to another computer and still the same problem, I then remembered I had a very old UFS, and that one works but I cant use it with the other HWK module. I made few tests and discovered that the problem resides in the ATmega8 microchip. Anyway, assuming that I could somehow write back the original serial number, the problem is that I dont remember it, so is there any log or something from where I could read it?
Thanks in advance in case someone can give me some usefull advice.

thanks for all the good advice, I found the software for changing the serial number it didnt exactly solve my problem, but it scrambled it enough for the update client to realise there's something wrong with it and to start a special recovering procedure which actually repaired it.
wish you all the best, and happy unlocking.
