Thumbs up Hwk faq

I will try to maintain a list of common question here.

Q. Is it possible to use UFS+HWK with new UFS Turbo features?
A. No. UFS+HWK does not have the required hardware to support the new features of UFS Turbo.

Q. What does HWK mean?
A. HardWare Key.

Q. How much does the HWK cost?
A. 199USD plus shipping and local taxes.

Q. Is it easy to install inside the UFS box?
A. Yes, just open the box, align the 16 pins and push into place, if you insert the wrong way the HWK will overlap the outside of the PCB.

Q. What features does it add?
A. Please check this thread here http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=1250659&postcount=1.

Q. Is that all the features?
A. No, updates will come for the HWK, some free, some paid, dependant on the work involved.

Q. Are cables included?
A. 199USD does not included cables, your reseller will be able to add these, they are sold in a pack of 4, K750, LG8xxx, D500 and Sharp.

Q. Are the flash files supplied on media (CD/DVD)?
A. Some resellers will supply media, depends on the countries law.

Q. Why is it so expensive?
A. Expensive? If you cannot afford it or do not need the features, then please do not buy it, simple.

Q. I have "Features:00000001" without HWK, why?
A. This is a preview for 200 phones, the HWK will added unlimited counter.

Q. I expected BB5 support, where is it?
A. In progress. (UPDATE: This is now available)

Q. How much is BB5 support or is it included in the HWK price?
A. BB5 flashing will be included in the price of the HWK.

Q. What does the UFS VPP Adapter do?
A. The flashing time is reduced with external VPP, so for users who have many phones to flash the overall time taken is quicker.

Q. Can I use the VPP Adapter with 7pin cables?
A. The VPP Adapter was designed for use with 5pin cables, use with 7pin may cause damage to the phones.

Q. My HWK shows RASKALIZED-20$-NOT APPLICABLE, what should I do?
A1. If you thought you had purchased an Original HWK, then contact your cheater reseller.
A2. If you purchased a Trial HWK, consider purchasing an Original.

Q. My HWK shows RASKALIZED-FIRMWARE-DETECTED, what should I do?
A1. If you purchased an Original HWK, then contact your reseller for instructions on replacing the patched firmware with Original firmware.
A2. If you used the RASKUL-HATER, sorry the patched firmware does not work any longer.

Q. Why do I get message "xxxx - Bad Product Settings" in LG_GSM software?
A. It means the phone or function is not supported, but listed for future support.

Q. Can I transfer my HWK from one UFS box to another?
A. Yes. You just need to run the update client to pair the new UFS with the HWK.

Q. Error upgrading HWK: HWK UPDATE ERROR: XX(X)
A. Your HWK has an hardware error, if its under warrenty speak with your reseller for exchange.

Regards,

Odia.

Thumbs up HWK Installation

1. Remove the cover from your UFS platform box.
2. Align the 16 pins and push into place. The 10 copper contacts MUST face towards the front of the PCB, NOT the back.
3. Replace the cover and enjoy.

See picture below for correct installation within UFS3 Excalibur

Regards,

Odia.

Thumbs up Notes

There appears to be a little confusion over the zip packs, so I will give you an outline here so you know which packs are used for what.

SE F500i VFE2 Vodafone UK R2AA

To upgrade the firmware version of this phone to R2AT you would use the zip pack F500_R2AT003_VFE2.ZIP

To convert this phone to another market region (SE F500i VFE2 Vodaphone DE) you would use zip pack X_F500_R2AE033_CDA10223-77_R36A_VODA_D2.ZIP

To convert this phone to a K500i (SE K500i EU2 O2 UK) you would use zip pack X_K500_R2AA_CDA102307-27_R2A_O2-UK.ZIP

The use of files is the same for all models, what you should be able to see from here is that none X zip packs are used for firmware update, and X zip packs are used for changing market region, model type or decustomisation (using generic versions).

Regards,

Odia.

Exclamation CMT 2nd Boot CERT Mismatch / ERR: CMT ALG Boot CERT MISM

Issue:
------
Nokia phones give error:
"ERR: CMT ALG Boot CERT MISM" or "CMT 2nd Boot CERT Mismatch" on "Check" or "Flash"

Problem:
--------
Some UFS manufacturers used a National LP2951C M33 (3.3V) regulator, instead of a LP2951C M30 (3.0V) regulator (IC - U6)

Workaround:
-----------
Change regulator to LP2951C M30

If you are 100% sure that your UFS has the correct regulator of M30 and you have checked the output using a voltage meter, you should then check the phones hardware.

Exclamation NOTE: To all Distributers and Resellers

Please do not update your HWKs to the latest version using the update client released on or after the 27/01/2007, as the UFS+HWK are now paired.

This means the HWK will only work in the UFS it was updated in. Software will display BOX_AUTH_ERROR: 1111

If you have already performed this action, the solution is simple, make a record of the HIDs:-

1. Ask your customer to try the latest update client, if they get the message no more logs then do one of the following:-

2a. if you are a distributer send the list of HIDs to Saras and ask them to be enabled for one more log

2b. if you are a reseller send the list of HIDs to your distributer, who can then pass them onto Saras.

Thumbs up NOTE: Vista, Windows 7 & 8 (tm) Users

M1cr0$oft have deemed that any executable should not have write access in the programs areas, there are two ways to get around this issue/security:-

1. Right click the application shortcut and select run as administrator

2. Disable UAC (User Access Control), I will not give info here how to do this, but G00gle is your freind, if you really really really want to do this, but remember this was added for a reason, disabling UAC gives all programs rights to everywhere.

Thumbs up SeDBx Quick Guide

Here is a quick guide to SeDBx, I see a few users asking for help, even though the interface is very simple...

Since SeDBx 2.0.7.2 USB Flashing has been added, to use this, select USB from the box to the right of Boot.
Put the phone into Flash Mode, either the "c" key or "2" in models such as W880 and W888.
Install the USB Flash Driver, you can find this driver in X:\Program Files\SarasSoft\UFS\UFS_DBX\USBFlashDriver
You can now press Boot and the phone will be attached in USB Mode.

The image above shows the correct setup for a W200c, the setup for other models is the same:-

MCU 1 = Main Flash File (large MCU file)
MCU 2 = File System (smaller MCU file)
MCU 3 or 4 = Update Agent (smallest MCU file - FOTA/EROM/CERT)
CUST\FSUP = BIB or BIC file (This is needed or phone will be in config error - This option is AKA Complete Phone)
(BIB files are used to convert the phone from one market region to the other, e.g. language change
BIC files are used if you only want to upgrade the phones software version, but change no other attributes)

All that needs to be done now is click "Flash" button.

(MCU files can be in any order, but I would suggest to use like the above image, since this is the correct flash order, Update Agent is not a required image, you do not have to update this, unless you are changing the CID version, in this case UA Update IS REQUIRED)

-----

TIPS:-

1. Connect Phone without battery to cable, click "Boot", insert battery.
2. No need to select model, the software will select the model via the phones TAC, if the phones TAC does not exist in the TAC database, please select the phone manually from the list. (also post your TAC and full model name in the discussion thread, e.g. 12345601 W777i (I,IM,A,C))
3. GDFS Info on Boot - This option will display useful information such as CXC and CDA version, note this option does not work for all phones, W200 is an example of this.
4. Skip Info Checking - Is sometimes useful to boot phones which are damaged from profile error or other small corruption.
5. Load/Save from/to Ini, once you have setup the required flash files, you can click "Save to Ini" and it will store the names for future use, note the Ini settings are read auto on phone boot, if the TAC does not exist, select the model manually and then click "Load from Ini"
6. If you get any kind of flash error, try the process again, if the error still exists, click "Generate Log" and post the output in the discussion thread, we will attempt to resolve your issue.

-----

NOTE: Write GDFS has been kept as an R&D Option for the moment, as we see many people writing GDFS to their phones without the knowledge of what they are actually doing, so Read GDFS is only useful for education at the moment or other advanced use (Hi FTS )

Use ID Loader, this option is not available for all models, W200 is an example of this, in this mode the GDFS is read in one block, so the blocks count can be left at 1.
When ID Loader is not selected, the CS loader will be used, if you are not sure how many GDFS blocks are active, use the greatest value.
Records count can be increased from the default, note some phonebook records can be greater than 4096.
Add ASCII comments, will add ASCII to the dump, this will allow easier reading by the end user.
Dump While Reading, this option dumps the GDFS output to the listview, note this will slow the GDFS reading by a small amount.

Res ULock - Reset Phone Unlock Code, note this is not network lock, but phone lock, only supports DB2020 at the moment, for others do "Read GDFS" info to display the code and then reset back to 0000 via the phones menu if required.

CID Upgrade - The box to the right will show the next CID up available for the connected phone, if the box is blank, you are on the latest supported CID, note this only works for DB2020/DB2012 phones at the moment and will only work with latest DB2020/DB2012 phones. Check that you have the firmware for the CID you want to upgrade too BEFORE upgrading the CID.

Support - This button is used to access the Support Area.

Regards,

Odia.

Exclamation --==> HTTP Error 400 Solution <==--

Hello, dear HWK customers.

Some of our users get HTTP Error 400 when trying to download torrent. A user Vad_n at MF.ru found the folowing reason and solution to this problem:

Either your PC or your provider's server has NOD32 antivirus installed. If that is your provider, contact him to solve this problem. If that is you, you can solve the problem by one of the following solutions:

1) Modify your NOD settings:
- NOD32 - IMON - HTTP Settings - uncheck "Automatically detect HTTP connections on other ports" (there should be 80, 8080, 3128 ......)
- Server compatibility - Add - support.sarunasoftware.com - Ok
- "Miscellaneous" - Exclusions - Add - C:\Program Files\uTorrent\utorrent.exe (it is installed there by default) - Ok.

2) If you are brave - completely disable IMON in NOD
3) If you are advanced user - upgrade to NOD32 3.x
4) If you are cautious - disable HTTP checks

Thumbs up Nokia Pinouts

This archive contains 8 Nokia cable pinouts which can be used for 90% of the Nokia phones.

Remember that the BSI resistance can vary from model to model and the battery terminals also can be in a different order.

Just look at the Flash contacts order on the phone and choose the correct pinout based upon the platform (DCT4 / BB5)

USB_P comes into play when you use RX2, to GND it does not really matter so much.
