| Prefetch error when installing HWK: SOLUTION Ok, i had this trouble when trying to install latest update, and after several requests for support here, i was pm'd by XisiX with a solution that works! Dont know why the alleged product supporters couldnt help, but anyway, here is solution: - Press start, then run, then type regedit - Open registry and navigate to HKLM(HKEY_Local_Machine)\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters - Change EnablePrefetcher parameter to "0" (default is 3) - Install HWK Minor Update v02.05.007 - Change back EnablePrefetcher parameter to it's previous state. Voila all is working, no more error or rebooting of pc..... Special thanks to XisiX for this info and help! |

| Oh no.. Now Odia will have to make installer check this branch of the registration database to check that this value has not been set to 0... Havent you guys figured it out yet.....Installing new releases should be as difficult as possible and you are not supposed to cut corners like this.... Damn...Poor Odia now he will have to spend hours coding new protection against succesful installs... ![]() Imagine what all those hours could have meant if they had been used to program good updates for the HWK users...
