Can you click Info and post the output here, so I can see the status of the phone, also make a backup of the GDFS using Read (GDFS Area) and Read GDFS options just in case you need it later. Odia.

| I cannot see a problem in the Info or the flash log output, all seems to be fine. Can I just check are you testing with a UMTS (3G) simcard or not? Or are you expecting the unlock to allow 2G operation? Odia. |

As I have said I have never seen the freeze problem before, but I would guess its due to bad calibration data in the phone, also maybe the other person who did the unlock did it via uploading an alien GDFS, which would explain the bad GDFS ... You will notice that the Flags: for the phone is 01FF... this is UMTS only, you would need to do an InitSB and add the further band locks for GSM, I also think you would need to add some flags in the GDFS to allow 2G/3G network selection, try adding the further bandlocks first and see what happens. It could also be the firmware version, maybe ealier firmware did not allow 2G operation and later firmware did, I am just guessing as I have not seen the Z1010 and tried to convert to 2G operation. But I think you need a good GDFS and I dont think one has been posted for the Z1010, so maybe you need to ask in the forum. (anyone reading this has a good GDFS please attach here) Odia.

| OK lets take this step by step ,,, 1). So how do i rectify the calibaration data ? 2). And yes i have notice the UMTS only .. the GDFS which i sent u says OAFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF (????) after init SB so i changed it to 1F but even with OAFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF it does the same thing 3) yes i need a GDFS that works with 2G but everyone sends me in either the cruiser format or Sonics Hoping for your reply Thanks Mike |

| Nomal user cannot, you need special RF equipment to carry this out, your only other option is to find a best fit GDFS e.g. on that does not cause the phone to freeze. Quote:
In regards to the GDFS you can write the BIN or GDF, I perfer BIN, the GDF is useful for tweeking the GDFS, e.g. to enable the 2G/3G selection menu in this case, but you would need to know the GDFS block, record and bit(s) to change. The CID 29 v CID 16 should not be a problem, just InitSB and it should recover the GDFS mis-match. If not you can do a Flash Rec to change the GDFS CID back to 16. Odia.
