i bought 2 alcatel devices 5020t & 7024 fierce from USA locked to metropcs carrier
i bought the unlock codes from net and unlocked them to any carrier here in Egypt
the phones work well for phone calls at any gsm sim no problem.
but when i open data it works (gsm only 2G) and when changing to (wcdma 3g) the signal disappear. my sim support 3g and works well in any other device no problem.
what wrong in these phones or that is because unlocking or what ?

Did you setup the apn correctly?

check supported bands for mentioned models :

7024W :
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100

5020T:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100

As we can see, 2G is quad-band, compatible with most Europe/Africa standards,
but ... 3G, question is which band is used in your country.
Here in my country is, for example, used 2100MHz,
you should ask/check operator settings, and will have answer about 3G not working.

Sir, I have the same problam....Does it work in pakistan ?
I want to flash the phone with other firmware....maybe thats work for active 3g...but unforchunatly I don't have firmware for this phone.
Byedaway i have 30pcs...I ll also pay for this problam if somebody fix it
